The recent ‘Guess What‘ challenge featured this weird image…

Did you get it, or even close?

Well looks like Pat from New Bloggy Cat did, and having correctly deduced what the larger image was, I now await my fate as Pat can now challenge me to write a guest post on her blog about ANY SUBJECT she likes (eek!)

The answer was a Bird of Paradise flower, or Strelitzia if you are into that sort of grown-up speak.

    Wow – I would never have thought of that. It didn’t even look like a plant. I have seen those plants when in Thailand, but didn’t realise they had purple bits! Good one!

    It is the national flower of South Africa by the way. The banana tree is a close relative with very similar flowers.
