Weekly Photo Challenge: Life Imitates Art (I)

My first entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge is an image taken last summer in the northern Turkish province of Edirne, with vast fields of sunflowers imitating the famous paintings by a certain Mister Van Gogh.

Such wonderful sunflower. I rarely see even one or two of those beauties. As for managing to grow any myself — that darned salty coastal wind usually destroys the plants before they can ever flower.

Great comparison. Did you have the Van Goch picture in mind when you took the photograph?

Nope… just a sea of yellow. When we saw the challenge, we started to think what we might have take that resembles art.

Challenging indeed but those are fabulous sunflowers and they really are close to VVG’s painting.
