Ankara’s Pigeons

Thursday 11 February, 2016 by Uncle Spike

Thought I’d have a go at capturing on film (or whatever you call it these days) some rather cold pigeons in central Ankara recently. I had an hour or so to kill as part of my family taxi duties, but that means time to explore, or in this case, try something new 🙂

  1. The pigeons in Glasgow are hard, they just sort of look at you over their shoulder if they’re on the pavement wait till you’re right up against them then fly up in your face!

  2. Hey Spike .. Love these pics! The second one is super .. 😃

This is lovely. You made a common bird look quite uncommon. Thanks Uncle Spike!

I once watched a few pigeons peck at a hole in the middle of a paved road, I looked in that hole and saw nothing to eat, I have no idea what they were doing! Pig-eons is about right for these creatures, we call them flying rats.
We do have a couple pairs of, ring necked Doves, I love listening to their Who,Who Who and replying to them……ya, I’m nuts!
