In tribute to Ziggy
7Wednesday 13 January, 2016 by Uncle Spike
I have shared many of my heroes of the musical world under the guise of Tunes I Love. Now, unless you live under a rock, you are no doubt aware of the passing of one of the music industry’s legends, Mr David Robert Jones, better known as David Bowie.
The man was an icon, always reinventing, always genuine. Another star from the UK who set the scene for many others. His music spanned generations; even my son knows his music.
In tribute to the man, I wanted to share a video seen many times I know, but something so very special. It’s Bowie’s iconic Space Oddity, originally from 1969 – back when I was still a little lad – but no ordinary tribute, but that of Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, having performed it in space, on board the ISS on 2013.
Another legend gone, but not forgotten. Rest in peace.
All the good ones are disappearing and life is diminished because of this.

He did that…. and now Prof. Snape is no doubt sharing a front row with many others up on his concert cloud.

This is one of my favourites too. He was such a huge influence on so many, hard to believe he’s gone.

He made such an impact, in many ways. We want people like him to live forever, it seems. I guess he will, in his music.

This was an awesome tribute to Bowie, although I wish they had kept the original lyrics. There will never be another like him, and we have been blessed to know his talent.
