Trees where we walk

Our pavements, or sidewalks, depending on your locality, are really much use for actually, err, walking on. There are often huge holes to contend with, lumps missing, lumps sticking up, and not to mention cars and trucks often parked on them.

And then there’s this; a blinkin’ great tree stuck in the way. This is quite a common sight actually. Needless to say, most of us end up walking in the road, but for anyone who uses a wheelchair, or has a kiddo-buggy, it’s no fun at all.

  1. I noticed that when we went to Turkey in 2013. Walk along the pavement and then be forced down an 18 inch kerb to circumnavigate a tree! Weird.

Yep. We make kerbstones the same as in the UK, but yours have the vertical front edge buried, but ours are wholly on top. Great for car doors sometimes, especially when say a large person opens the back door (fine), then sits in the back, then tries to close the door, which by then is welded to the pavement.

Trees are a precious thing, it seems.
