Stunning cathedral of Pompei

This is the magnificent Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei. This Roman Catholic cathedral is a central feature in the main square of downtown modern day Pompei, Italy. By day it’s impressive, but at night I was in awe – one of the, of so very Italian sights that you sit for hours and gaze…

We visited Pompeii, but we did not see the cathedral – only ruins.

I’ve been to the ruins in Pompeii several times, but never went into the city itself. So, thanks for showing us this splendid cathedral. There’s no doubt a lot more to be seen in Pompeii.

Most coach parties go in at the main entrance by the station, but we used the “Amphitheatre” entrance, and this cathedral and main square is just some 150m from there 🙂
