Weekly Photo Challenge: Half-Light (I)
18Friday 25 March, 2016 by Uncle Spike
My first entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge is a photograph I took of lightning striking the mountainside. It was taken one afternoon, standing on the balcony of our farmhouse in the West Taurus Mountains of southwest Türkiye.
And to answer the challenge “Share a photograph inspired by a favorite poem, verse, story, or song lyric”, well my immediate thought was from that all time classic and personal favourite, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen
I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?
Thunderbolt and lightning,
Very, very frightening me.
(Galileo) Galileo.
(Galileo) Galileo,
Galileo Figaro
Magnifico.
.
Hope you enjoy my take on this entry.

Haha…. still frame capture from video taken on my wife’s phone as we stood there on the balcony watching the rain storm together – sheer luck 🙂

Wow! Fascinating how the streak of lightning changes my whole perception/relationship to the landscape. I experience a huge shift in energy within myself as I catch sight of the streak of light in the distance. I love your photograph.

There was an even more deafening one a few minutes later, but alas we didn’t capture that one.
