Tuesday 26 January, 2016 by Uncle Spike
Today is Australia Day, the anniversary of when the first ships arrived back in 1788.
I know it’ll be a special day for a particular few friends of ours, so this post is dedicated especially to them (they know who they are I’m sure), and of course my newer blogging followers and friends from down-under.
My own memories of Australia Day are having celebrated with a few Aussies in countries such as far apart as Palestine, UK, and New Zealand. Having spent a few months in Oz on a couple of trips, somehow I’ve never quite managed to be there on 26 January, but hey, it’s the thought that counts, yes?
So anyway, here’s a piccie for you of that famous bridge, and some building in the background you might recognise.
All the best – SPIKE
