Depending on where you are from, you’d know this as a Ladybird (UK), or a Ladybug (US). Here we call it the Uğur Böceği (Lucky Bug), and this is my Macro Monday image for this week. Hope you all enjoy it!

Very shiny ladybird, indeed. It looks as if it’s made of polished patent leather!

Tooks me ages to stitch it too
The lady bug looks so shiny. You captured it perfectly.
The magic of my wife’s Samsung phone 🙂
WOW … great phone. 😎
I know… here are three other taken with it. Puts my camera to shame sometimes 🙂
Love your ladybird Spike 😀
love lady bugs. Great picture.
This little insect is my absolute favourite. Love them!!
I like that photo, too. In Italy, they’re considered a “porta fortuna”, literally “it carries luck”.
I’ll be glad to be warm enough to see those little things again!
Beautiful n Great Shot…
Is doesn’t look real, does it. It has a kind of plastic sheen. Good photo.
I approve aphid killers, but when ladybirds swarm they have been known to bite humans! The UK has now, apparently, an invasive ladybird species which — like the grey squirrel — is ousting native species. Can’t remember its colour (yellow?) or number of spots (fewer?!) so wouldn’t know how to recognise it, sadly …
Didn’t know that…. this was taken on top of a hill, high above Skopje, and there there thousands of them. First time I’d ever seen that.
A beautifully taken photograph. Well caught.
