Sad times

Tuesday 12 January, 2016 by Uncle Spike

Today, another fatal bombing within our borders; taking the total lives lost over 200 in a couple of years. Add that to the loss of life on a daily basis in the east, and I can’t quite muster the enthusiasm to blog tonight.

Be safe, wherever you are.

I have come to accept that there is no safe place, if we go to the movies I wonder, what if, and if we go to a flea market, again I think, what if?

Saw the terrible headlines this morning and immediately thought of you…blogging allows us to connect, transforming the perhaps impersonal into something that directly affects each of us.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, your neighbors and friends. May we see true peace and fellowship in our lifetimes. May it start now.

I wish you safety wherever you are in Turkiye. Too much life is being lost because man will not learn tolerance and co-existence. Well done Bloggers for Peace for trying.

  15. I saw the news earlier today and was very sad to hear of this new attack…I do hope that it isn’t a sign of what 2016 is going to look like. I have found memories of our visit to Hagia Sofia and really felt for the people who were killed simply for being at the wrong place at the wrong time…Courage! (Suzanne)
