Here’s a friendly little praying mantis…

We get these a lot around here, and I’m truly fascinated by them. They certainly are great photo subjects, and not scared of being inspected up close and personal.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy my Macro Monday shot for this week.

  3. They’re brilliantly engineered by nature. My son used to breed stick insects, which are quite a similar design. They were fascinating, too. One of the female ones grew absolutely huge and lived double the length time she should have done. We had to take her on holiday with us to the cottage we stayed at in Suffolk, asking special permission of the woman who owned the cottage that we could bring our unusual pet along with us.
