The citrus fruit yield looks to be well below average this year. Most of that is down to the weather variations seen this past 6-9 months, with freezing weather last winter, then prolonged rains late through spring, and a good summer, but not that hot (compared to other years).
However….. look at this baby!!

This is one of just four pomelos on a small tree close to the farmhouse; just for us. Ready around the end of the year, this wee monster should keep the boss-lady happy with her after-dinner snack for a few nights at least.

And, I just found out that grapefruit are the offspring of pomelos and navel oranges, and they can weigh up to 10kg! Your little tree better get nice and strong for future crops.

Oh yes… they are one of the original fruits I believe; before cultivating farming began. Ours are usually 1-2kg 🙂
