Wildfire Smoke – Jasper, Alberta
7Tuesday 22 September, 2015 by Uncle Spike
This is a double/spliced image taken very recently in Jasper, Alberta, Canada by a good friend of mine. With his kind permission, I’m able to share this with you guys. I know it’s not my work*, but thought you’d agree, this is a remarkable set of photos 🙂
.
To get an idea of how bad the wildfire smoke became in Canada while we were there, I pasted these two iPhone photos together which I took from the same street corner 24 hours apart. The left hand side before the smoke arrived, and then the right shows just how much visibility was lost. And this was when the smoke wasn’t really bad – at it’s worst you wouldn’t have seen the trees in the background! — in Jasper, Alberta.

Jasper is not too far from where we live. Yes this summer the smoke has been astounding. Some days so bad we were warned not to leave our houses. I can’t imagine what the air quality was at the fires themselves.

You “must” visit Jasper. It is better than the photos (which are fantastic)
