Saturday 05 September, 2015 by Uncle Spike

This week’s second entry from me for the Weekly Photo Challenge shows us the connection between modern day school kids, and our cultural heritage. Wherever you are, and from whatever country, our heritage is worth remembering – for us, it’s traditional Turkish folk dancing.

Hope you enjoy this entry.

Great entry for connection. I love the last photo. I can’t tell if these dances are a competition or just a showcase, but the women in the last photo have that look on their face common to so many around the world as if they’re saying, “Oh yeah? That’s your moves? Just wait til it’s our turn!”

  3. Folk dancing is popular here across the border in Georgia, too. It connects young people with their traditions.

  4. Love this interpretation of the theme. And you’re so right . . . connections to one’s heritage are quite important!
