Winter in Istanbul: Colours
8Saturday 04 July, 2015 by Uncle Spike
Mid winter, and we found ourselves in Istanbul for a few days this year.
This is the second in this series of general life and scenery of non-touristy areas on both the European and Asian continents that this great city straddles.
One (quite valid) comment on the last post was the lack of colour… Well, first off it was the drab and dreary back end of January, so nowhere was that stunning, but saying that, the area of Moda and Kadıköy on the Asian side does have a spot of two of colour to offer.

And then there’s this set of steps. Actually I featured this recently, but it so sums up this great area; even if the authorities are less keen, shall we say.

So how about this? Parking on roadways that double as tramlines used to be quite problematic; but check out this colourful solution 🙂

Adore the colored balls. Round is my favorite shape in the whole wide world. As a 6 year old child I was accidentally left at a store. They found me a little while later staring, transfixed, at a display that featured a croquet set with bright, shiny, solid colored playing balls. Oh so beautiful.

I know, loved them – especially on a dull winters day 🙂

I love the colors! AND look fresh flowers even though everyone is bundled up!
