Macro Monday: Pomegranate
1Monday 13 April, 2015 by Uncle Spike
My posting for Macro Monday.
Hope you all like it 🙂

Looks like some underwater plant, but in fact it’s just a new leaf on a pomegranate bush. During winter they are just bare and almost dead looking, but during late March/early April, the leaves start to appear.

Within 10 days the whole bush/tree has come to life, and off we go into another season. The spectacular red flowers are a month away yet, with fruit weighing in at 0.75-1.5kg (1.5-3.5 lbs) ready for late summer through to mid autumn.

I like the spiderwebs in the first photo…they added charm!
