Lemon recovery

Wednesday 11 March, 2015 by Uncle Spike

Although two of the lemon trees look pretty much ‘gone’, and the largest is still in panic shut-down mode, we do have one small hope for next year’s lemons…

Our smallest tree, which normally yields a whopping 20kg (44 lbs) of juice lemons was hit pretty hard. In the image below you can see how the top branches are all bare of leaves, and most are now dead and brown.

However, the lower part of the tree still shows signs of life. So much so, look at what I just spotted, some flowers!!

Certainly a better story than the bigger lemon trees.

What a shame. Here in Arizona there is a bumper crop of citrus fruit. So much that even the shelters are turning it down. And the trees are loaded with new blossoms.

Oh, gosh. This just makes me sick. Will you be able to get a couple of trees to replace those you have lost. I so sorry.

  6. What has damaged the trees Spike? We have citrus borer which is killing a wonderful tree of ours. I hate seeing it decline ..
