Black Scorpion this time!

Further to my recent post about the aggressiveness of scorpions, I found another little chap to play with….
This time it was a black scorpion which I believe is another variant of the European Scorpion, but I didn’t ask for his identification to be honest. About 2″ or 5-6cm long, with very wide reaching pincers, I found him under a sack of coal when preparing for a new delivery of 110 sacks last week.

These guys can apparently give a much nastier sting than the yellow ones I featured last time (see below), but that’s just gossip I had no intention of confirming either way.
.
.
But yet again, just to demonstrate how non-aggressive they are, I took another brief video for you…. all they want to do is have a quiet life, a just scurry off out of your way every time.

I hate those things. Been stung several times. Put down mouse sticky traps at door openings and around the house to capture them. They get stuck and can’t get away. We hardly see them anymore now.

Word got out obviously… we have nets on all doors and windows, but the chickens keep most of them at bay around here.

Do you just use liquid ammonia to treat a sting?

But far more interesting, and don’t bite your toes in the middle of the night just for the hell of it 🙂

They are so timid in reality, much more so than the snakes.
