May 1980, and I was a weekend teenage discjockey at a small private boarding school in Hampshire, southern England. I was really into music back then…. Well, err, that’s a small fib if ever I told one; what would be more correct to say that I reckoned a spot of DJ’ing might be a cool way to meet the girls. It worked; I was the school stud – if only in my dreams….
But it was fun at the time, and did provide me with another daft entry on my rather elongated list of past employment. The one track that was played over and over, as I recall, was “Morning Train”, or sometimes known as “9 to 5” by the beautiful Sheena Easton.
I hope you enjoy this latest flashback from my Tunes I Love series.
