This week’s first entry from me for the Weekly Photo Challenge is a photograph of a massive (25m, 81′) hilltop statue of Mevlana that I took in the western city of İzmir, here in Türkiye some nine years ago.
Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī is more commonly known here as Mevlana, but you may know him as simply Rumi. He was a 13th-century Persian poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic, and his works are still very much revered across the world even today
Hope you enjoy this entry.
