Bedrooms are for what?

Most folk have a spare bedroom or two, usually kitted out for an unexpected visitation by the outlaws, that distant relative you hear from once in a blue moon, or to give shelter to a friend who just needs a break.
Our farm is often like that too, a non-charging home-stay sort of arrangement, with guests ‘booked’ months in advance, especially during the shoulder seasons (i.e. not the rainy bit, and not the scorching hot bit).
But when such rooms are not occupied, just what do you do with yours?? Does it become a refuge for that ironing mountain that was stuffed into the guest-room double wardrobe? Or does it revert to a backup playroom for the kids (or dad)? In our place we often make use of the extra space in slightly unconventional ways….
Drying fresh mint
.
Or drying basil and thyme

And here’s a peek inside our storeroom…

Haha,, my cat just sleeps in mine; yours is much more productive! 🙂

That is quite the herb production! I imagine the guest room smells lovely. 🙂

This is really cool, Uncle spike 🙂
Most of us used waste a lot of time and effort in keeping the spare room neat and clean even though it’s not been used for a long time.
Or just leave it to dump all the unused stuff.
We can follow your example to make use of the available space more efficiently 🙂
Thank you so much for the idea 🙂

It’s also a great excuse NOT to have to clean two rooms 🙂
