What’s Spike up to now?
55Wednesday 05 November, 2014 by Uncle Spike
After the recent successful ‘Guess What’ post that turned out to be a Bird of Paradise flower, here’s something a little different…
.
Answers on a postcard !
And yeah, why not… first correct answer again get’s me as guest author on your blog (if you want). It’s just a bit of fun, but I enjoy the challenge of writing for someone else’s blog for a change 🙂
As previously, the winner can pick ANY subject for me…. BUT let’s make it some ‘way off topic’, something that I never usually post about – time to challenge the old Spike (all bar politics and religion that is).
.
And the answer was...
.
Just an idle guess because I know very little about the sea as you will know from my guess. A reef sponge.

There seem to be a couple of comments further back that you haven’t replied to, or you have and they aren’t showing. I would hate to miss a clue!

Sorry about that. Internet dodgy today and a couple of responses got ‘lost’ – done now (thanks for letting me know)

Oh gosh – another difficult one. Are you washing something that is making more bubbles from the soap as you squeeze it – like something make of foam?

Not something I’d like to try doing. Leave that sort of thing to the pest controllers, but I thought you might be up to the challenge!

We get ground nests of European Hornets quite a bit every June… one year I was concreting, so I mixed up a really sloppy mortar mix and dumped a wheelbarrow load right on top of the rocks where they had nested. Never heard from them after that 🙂

Brilliant one! Hornets have the most evil stingers on them. I remember a gardener getting stung on his nose by one. He looked like Mr Punch and was in such pain, he couldn’t work for the next two days.
