Here’s a spikey wee thing I spotted in the grounds of the castle on the Greek island of Kos – part of the Dodecanese chain, and one of our closest neighbours.
Taken this past summer, it’s a happy reminder of family times (the beauty, not its prickliness)…

    Looks like some sort of Globe Thistle or Echinops. I grew one for the first time this year – very photogenic.
