Macro Monday: Foreground & Background

3

Monday 27 October, 2014 by Uncle Spike

My posting for Macro Monday.

In this shot, I tried to capture the essence of this beautiful white flower, and its little visitor as the foreground, or central object. In the background, in the distance, is the old castle on the Greek island of Astypalaia; the westernmost island of the Dodecanese chain in the Mediterranean.

Any advice on how better to frame this?

Hope you all like it !

I like the first image best as it is simpler than the second. It would have been even better to my mind if there had been white space between the flower and the background. To get the background more in focus there are quite a few things you can do, but I am not sure that is what you are asking?
