Weekly Photo Challenge: Signs (I)

This week’s first entry from me for the Weekly Photo Challenge is from the wall outside a kindergarten on the Greek island of Astypalea. Just looked interesting to me 🙂
Hope you enjoy this entry.

I can’t tell you what it means. It looks pretty apt for a kindergarten – with all those colors 😛

Ok then!
1. ΔΩΡΑ-Is the Greek word for Gifts (meaning you can bye many different things for giving them as a gift)!
2. ΣΟΥΒΕΝΙΡ-souvenir
3. ΑΞΕΣΟΥΑΡ-accessories
Number 2 and 3 are not Greek words, we use them in their actual form, somehow, changing a bit their accent.
Good morning Spike and hope you go to Astypalaia again! 🙂

I’ll put them on my list for next summer…. What we like are quiet, traditional places that are still ‘Greek’, if you know what I mean. What we don’t want are places full of tourists, with bars, clubs, McDonalds etc 🙂

I like the same thing, and those islands are far away from Pereus or other ports,so not too many tourists like them.
They are Greek still and full of silence and peace.
Put them on your list, you ll love them!

It says “gifts” and “souvenirs”. The last one I don’t know. It looks like a Hellenic spelling of a foreign word.
