İZMİR…. City Sunrise

10

Sunday 21 September, 2014 by Uncle Spike

You can take the country boy (lad, guy, man, old git – delete as appropriate) to a city, but I still have a craving or need to be outside at dawn…

Thankfully, the western city of İzmir on the Aegean coast of Turkey did have something to offer me when it came to grabbing some ‘outdoor’ time – apart from shopping malls, which don’t count in my book.

Up at 05:45, I was out walking each day by 06:00, wearing my sports shpes (rather than steel reinforced farm-boots) for a couple of hours of decent walking exercise by the water, and of course on a couple of mornings, armed with my camera 🙂

I never tire of sunrises and sunsets; no matter where in the world. This city was no different. Ok, so there were no roosters, cows, goats or tractors, as in the norm for my waking hour, but even still, there was plenty to keep my camera happy.

The colours always amaze me at sunrise, plus the added bonus that a city provides, silhouettes, which seem to enhance the effect.

Taken over a few days, I hope you enjoy these few shots that remind me of happy times… in a city – now that IS a rare statement, coming from me!

I never tire of either! Your colors of rose and pink are unique…we have red and pink and oranges but never that lovely rose!

You are right, brother Spike! Sun rises and sun sets prove to be beautiful everywhere, as You have shown so well. The colours seem to look a bit different from those in our part of the world. And You are right about silhouettes providing their own beauty. Kudos.
