New England USA ~ Palatial Places

5

In the latest ‘yesteryear look-back’ mini-series, this is the third about New England in America’s north-east. We started off with some shots of downtown Boston in the state of Massachusetts, and then last time we went off for a spot of whale watching!

In this post I remember being taken aback by the sheer size of some of the properties in the rural areas of New Hampshire and Maine. Some were definitely tasteful mansions, but others were just plain ostentatious.

.

How about this little pad by the sea?

Or do you fancy somewhere in picturesque suburbia?

Or why not blow a few million on a more palatial setting?

(‘landscape gardener’ required by the looks of it though)

But this is my fave…. one can dream, eh?  😀

And of course, a little somewhere by the lake for summertime!

P.S.:  As with all these ‘blast from the past’ series, please note, and excuse, the quality of the images. All are scans of low quality 6″x4″ (15x10cm) prints that were stored away in an attic for a long time.

  4. Love New England a lot. My family spent five years in Boston where my son was born. I especially love Maine where I am now for a little while. I will soon post about it and send pictures your way.
