1 Year ~ My Personal Favourites
9Wednesday 25 June, 2014 by Uncle Spike
Following on from the Top Posts of the past year, there are of course my own personal favourites. Now, they might or might not have been popular in terms of ‘likes’, ‘page views’, or ‘comments’, but those that follow are my my own personal Top 10 Favourites that I have created and posted since the blog began.
Each of the titles and images contain links to the posts I selected
– so if you click on them, you can judge if I was right… or not 🙂
.
.
This tenth place most favourite post of mine is simply:
No. 10: – Pommie Processing
.
.
.
In ninth place I have selected one from my farming world:
No. 9: – Almost Olive Time
.
.
.
For number eight, how about this one
No. 8: – Well Put Sir!
.
.
.
In seventh position you’ll find a Christmas post from a Muslim 🙂
No. 7 – Jingle Bells, Punjabi Style
.
.
.
Sixth place goes to another of my more philosophical moments…
No. 6: – Mediocrity Is A Sin
.
.
.
Whist fifth is a then and still now accurate portrayal
of our resident short person of the Spike household
No. 5: – Sheldon Mark IV
.
.
.
And for fourth place I have picked out one of my
most rewarding of building/ gardening projects
No. 4: – The Old Olive Tree
.
.
.
So for third place there is the short post I wrote for New Year 2014
No. 3: – We Are The Same
.
.
.
And in the penultimate position we have a comic sketch
that reminds me so much of my days in the corporate world!
No. 2: – This Takes Me Back
.
.
.
And my own personal favourite post is this one,
in which I discuss this deep but most basic of human ideals:
No. 1: – Should We Dare To Dream?
.
.
It’s always interesting to realize that our favorite posts aren’t necessary the most popular. I always liked yours about the olive trees and nature in general. And also about little Spike.

Bang to rights, Spike – life is not a rehearsal. A few years ago I gave up work to try and prevent my health really nosediving, even though many people told me I shouldn’t. OK, it’s tough not earning, I have to be careful, but I am freer to do things that I want to within these constraints. I made a 5 year plan last year, to spur myself on to do a few things whilst I (hopefully) still can. I have just read David du Chemin’s Beautiful Anarchy and it really chimes with me… http://abeautifulanarchy.com/?mc_cid=25ca6f550f&mc_eid=7c00e168cc
Someone commented that the book “screams against the darkness of a life not lived”…

Great round-up … in particular, We Are The Same. The world can’t hear it enough!

Even if it reaches only one more person, it is worth the effort.
