Hawaiian Adventures ~ Plantation
9Sunday 08 June, 2014 by Uncle Spike
Another week has flown by, so time to fly on back to Hawaii, an adventure from the late 80’s….
First off was my looking around downtown, in and around Waikiki and Honolulu, and then as a second part, I headed inland, followed by the third being a selection of coastal/beach… In this post, I take a look at a visit to the Maui Tropical Plantation.
.
.
As I recall, it was a beautiful, serene place, so lush and green.
.
With palms and banana plants all over the place.
.
It had a real ‘colonial’ feel about it too.
.
The gardens were extensive, obviously, but nevertheless, very impressive.
.
I can image it being a favoured spot for a wedding bash!
.
P.S.: As with all these ‘blast from the past’ series, please note, and excuse, the quality of the images. All are scans of low quality 6″x4″ (15x10cm) prints that were stored away in an attic for a long time.

Nice. These pics brought back good memories of our trip there in 95. One day I must get around to scanning our pics too.

It’s quite an adventure in itself, especially dragging the grey matter back some 20 years…

Love these blasts from the past! Not even sure where my pics from Maui in 1985 are… so bravo you not only unearthed but scanned and shared yours. Just remember it was a marvellous time, gorgeous snorkelling, driving through the plantations, a terrific vacation with family and friends. Thanks for triggering good memories!

More than welcome 🙂
My stash of prints have been stored in a friends attic on another continent until last New Year, so it’s all a bit of an adventure to look through them myself, and then try to remember what and where they were from 😀
