So What’s My Problem?
11Saturday 17 May, 2014 by Uncle Spike
We all consider ourselves hard done by in life, at some point or another. I for one bemoan our financial and political hardships compared to life in other countries, but deep down, I know I am one of the lucky ones. I have my health, and a loving family.
But… then I watched this video, and I was moved by the sheer tenacity this young man has on life, AND as for his dad, well he puts my efforts into persepctive. Hats off to both these guys.

Beautiful story. I think it shows that the love we have for our children is without boundaries. Some parents lower that bar …. but then there are some very special others who make us all pause with respect.

Interesting. I must admit I have been a bit more attentive as a parent since first seeing this video clip!

That is so very moving. Thanks for sharing.
There have been a number of famous blind pianists, organists, and composers, but I’m not sure which, if any of them, were that way from birth. I’ve met a few blind piano tuners, too. I think that often when people are deprived of one sense, compensate for it double-time with another of their senses.

Puts life into some perspective for sure…. Think you are dead right about the sense compensation angle. I used to work voluntary with physically disabled kids and adults, and similarly they too could radically compensate.

What an inspirational relationship. It just goes to prove that nothing is impossible with the love and support of one’s family.
