Wordless Wednesday – RIP

Not wordless today… sometimes words are necessary.

(rescheduled my planned WW post due to this disaster – seems appropriate)

During our mild winters, we burn coal to take off the chill at nights. We don’t had natural gas. Fair enough, temperatures of 0-10C (or 32-50F) are not that cold I know, but…. Anyway, as I say we burn coal here, which comes from the coal mines a little north of here in the province of Manisa. But yesterday that fact brought on a whole new meaning.

Death Toll at Mine Blast Passes 200

.

A rescued miner surrounded by relatives, medics and other miners cries after being rescued from a coal mine he was in trapped in Soma, a district in Turkey's western province of Manisa

May they rest in peace

To those of you who are leaving messages, bless you all. Out of respect to those who are affected, I feel it would be inappropriate to reply.

  5. It’s scary when something like this happens so close to home. I hope they find more survivors soon.

On our news also – that’s a lot of lives to be lost and so much for one community to bear.
    Sad time for all concerned.

New Zealand and Turkey share common bonds. I read this in our morning paper, and my heart went out to the families. Like Turkey, we have our mining disisters to bear, so again, prayers, thoughts and love to their families.
