I Love The Sound of Rainfall

Thursday 01 May, 2014 by Uncle Spike

In a land where we have virtually no rain for months on end, I still enjoy the odd downpour. I know it must seem weird to many, but the thrill of a storm still get’s to us. Young Cousin Spike Jnr dons his wellies and jacket, and I grab the camera, 😀

And then I hear the back door go… it’s Aunty Spike heading out to the veggie garden in seek of salad materials for lunch! My my, how the city gal has changed 🙂

Rain, and what it brings (the green) is what I miss the most living in San Diego. 9 months of no rain is horrible.

  2. Totally with you with the magic of water. We only understand it when we live with so little precipation. Great post with a good combo of sensory details.

I love a good storm. Well, one with lots of flash and noise but that doesn’t do much damage.

I agree. One of my most surreal moments took place when I was 18 and stoned. It was 3am, and there was a storm howling. My friend and I were sitting in my darkened room, windows open, and listening to “Riders On The Storm”…

Your absolutely right! It can be wonderful with rain (and now we forget about the catastrophically ones).
And without the raining now and then, we wouldn’t have the green stuff. (hehe)

I too love the rain, and it rains a lot here. Drizzle, downpour, thunderstorm, typhoons – all fascinate me.

Hmmm….if you had no rain for ages, I guess you would miss it. But we have too much to get excited about it!

You can’t beat a good heavy downpour, with a bit of thunder and lightning thrown in (so long as not tooo close!)

  12. I too enjoyed the sound of rain yesterday.
The summer rain is the most welcomed natural phenomena here, which relieves our mind and body from the scorching sun.
Even though it doesn’t last more than a few minutes, it cools everything down 🙂

...waiting to hear from you...
