This week’s first entry from me for the Weekly Photo Challenge is a sign pointing the way to the castle on the Greek Dodecanese island of Astypalea.
Hope you enjoy this entry.

it is so ironic that the castle sign would be so minimal – and that is what makes the picture extra cool – I also love the background feel you give us here – you can feel the texture a bit…..

Yes, it’s all very ‘understated’ – typical Greek island style.

These islands are close to the Turkish mainland, just 30 mins of a ferry (although Astypalea takes 5 hours in total)

I like the simplicity of the photo and it’s so like Mykonos when I was there many, many years ago.

I’m sure it has. I was there in the mid-70’s and it was lovely.

Yikes. That one photo shows solid build-up by the water. Glad I went when I did. We also went to Naxos, which was very uninhabited. That’s probably different now as well. But they had the biggest lemons I’d ever seen!

We’ll be in Naxos this summer (after Astypalea again) and enroute to Syros.
