Images From The Village (Part II)

Monday 24 February, 2014 by Uncle Spike

This is the second of three posts showing images of our village.

The first post was this: Village Images (Part I)

Barns and outhouses…
We all have them, some big, others small, most are rickety but all are well used.

Although it’s been a while since we’ve had rain, maybe a week, it’s still running off the hills (note the two small streams flowing through the undergrowth)

And I thought my old car was knackered!

Irrigation channels flow everywhere. Blue door counting from the car was a favourite way of learning to count for Cousin Spike Jnr when he was two or three.

This seems to be our local ‘self-service’ stone supply centre for anyone doing their driveway 🙂

  1. […] Village Images (Part II) and Village Images (Part III) […]

  2. […] in a rural Turkish village, these posts may also be of interest. I’ll call them Village 1, Village 2 and Village 3, for want of better link names 🙂 […]

  3. I hope you are going to take better care of your outhouse now that you have built it!

Interesting. Looks similar to spots where we live especially the knackered car

It seems like a very peaceful and quiet area. 🙂
