Reminder Of Warmer Days…
12Thursday 12 December, 2013 by Uncle Spike
For most of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we are now well into ‘winter’, whilst our friends in the Southern Hemisphere are now enjoying their summer.
I have personal friends who live in some very cold places, such as Finland and Canada, so I know in their eyes, our mild winters here in southwest Türkiye really don’t count. However, saying that, this week it is about 6-8 (42-45) and freezing at night – for us that’s like igloo building weather, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr….
However, no matter to what degree you are ‘missing summer’, here’s a photographic memory jogger that I took just down the road on just one of those warmer days…
.
Not been to bad here frost in the morn but 12 in sunshine today , it’s mad as this time last the the uk was at a stand still with snow every where . You’ve got to love global warming have you 🙂

Since it’s 13 F and feels like -2 at mid-day, I enjoyed looking at this reminder of warm days. However, it’s beautiful here, too, sunny with enough snow to look wonderful yet not be a problem. So I’m enjoying that, too. Could warm up a bit, though.

not in my part of Canada — Vancouver! 🙂 although we did go down to -9 C a few days ago, and the coldest we’ve ever been (in my lifetime, anyway) was -15 C in the early 90s, I think.

it’s so cold, in any territory or province to our east, that ice hockey can be played outdoors.
