Doh, Who Didn’t Change The Clocks?

Sunday 27 October, 2013 by Uncle Spike

Here in the household of Clan Spike, we both needed to get up early for work this Sunday morning. Whilst your Uncle Spike is numbing his grey matter on proof-reading a book on psychotherapy, C.G. Jung and Freud (I know… WTF?), Aunty Spike needs to continue working on her new article (she’s an academic and a manager; a sort of ‘very growed-up teacher’).

Of course, when you jump out of bed at 06:30 after what was also a late night finish (of the same joyous stuff, I might add) and discover it’s really only 05:30 (doh, yeah, guess who forgot – even with all the WP posts yesterday!), it’s a double-edged sword, so to speak…

Does one say (ever so quietly): “Yay, woopie-wotsits; I still have another hour!”

Or the opposite: “Oh boy, wow, what a super-dooper opportunity to get that chapter on Freud finished!”

Guess what option these Muppets went for 😦

Well, that’s the plan, to get on with our respective works… now that’s all assuming the small person, a.k.a. Cousin Spike Jnr and my visiting parents-in-law wake up on ‘new’ time, not ‘old’ time. So far, it’s not looking hopeful, for both the chooks and Bonzo are doing their usual noisy panic routine of “It’s time to get up dad!!!” (as if that were the only form of alarm call in the world).

Hey ho – good (early) morning world 🙂
