Big Nerd : Little Nerd

Shame young nipper is growing up so fast.
If he wasn’t so heavy and tall now,
we could replicate our Lego mates here
at the next parents evening at school.
Probably wouldn’t go down too well,
but it might be a laugh:)
Doubt Cousin Spike Jnr’s teacher would agree,
she banned all Star Wars books on the first day of primary school!
a cute father-and-son Stormtrooper moment. 🙂

As Neil Gaiman put it – “Fiction has two uses. Firstly, it’s a gateway drug to reading.” I think Star Wars books are as good a gateway drug to reading as you can get. Once you’ve got them hooked on having their heads in book it may never end!

Quite agree…. kiddo is 5 and just stated school, but his reading is at level 3 (reading alone) purely down to his love of Star Wars books.
See his own category on this blog (Cousin Spike Jnr) there was a post a couple of weeks ago that showed his books – far more ahead than I ever was at that age 🙂

Strict school. No games at school, that’s all. Plus she’s right, you’d never get their heads out of a Star Wars book!
