Religion And Our 5 Year Old

….picture this….

Two weeks ago, we were boarding a Greek ferry from Astypalea to Kalymnos.

It was mid morning, on a bright summers day in the Dodecanese islands.

Our 5 year old son was tugging at my elbow

“Look daddy!” he whispered in awe

“What kiddo?” I replied

“Daddy…. LOOK!” he said again, this time with greater urgency

I was concentrating on safely boarding the ferry with our backpacks,
tickets in hand and some scraps of breakfast in a bag.

But, eventually I turned to look behind us.

“Look daddy, it’s Dumbledore!”

A little way behind us, a Greek orthodox priest was also boarding the ferry.

The guy smiled, he seemed like a nice chap – respect.

But you just gotta love how a 5 year old views the world sometimes 🙂
