So, there IS hope in the world…

I got some good news today… and I thought, hey, why not be sociable for a change and share it!

Well, a daughter of an old friend of mine has struggled with life for a few years, having gone through some very tough times, regularly self-harmed, and attempted suicide more than a few times. I reckoned for a while she had a season ticket for the local ambulance service and emergency room! For too long, I dreaded getting a message; scared of its content…

I know it’s been an uphill struggle, but today I hear she has now gone ONE whole year without self-harming. That represents an awful lot of hard work and perseverance at such a young age.

It kind of puts the rest of our troubles into perspective a bit.

We all celebrate and share our exam or job successes via social media, but I also wanted to acknowledge this very important milestone. Uncle Spike is having a proud day 🙂
